The Play Therapy Institute of Columbus is a training facility for Counselors, Social Workers, MFTS, and Play Therapists. We strive to provide effective, ethical, and developmentally-appropriate trainings to clinicians of all levels. A gentle, hands‑on introduction to the world of Sandtray Therapy, where clinicians build their own sandtray and enjoy a behind‑the‑scenes glimpse into the clinical magic that unfolds within the sand.

Classes facilitated by local artists to give clinicians an opportunity to engage in their own artistic process.
Join us for a relaxing and creative needle felting workshop where you’ll learn how to turn colorful wool fibers into a beautiful, painting-like picture. No experience is necessary-just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Trainings specifically designed for beginning clinicians. Indirect hours available for internship dependent on university approval.
Students will learn the fundamentals of sandtray therapy and basic activities to start their journey towards the world of sandtray with clients. 3 hour training.
Students will learn the various types of expressive arts and several activities they can use with clients. 3 hour training.
Many students ask for more activities but, once they get those activities, ask the follow up question "now what"? This training gives that answer. This training provided students with an in-depth understanding of how to process activities they do with their clients. 2 hour training.

The Play Therapy Institute of Columbus conducts all trainings in alignment with the ethical standards of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) and the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Board and applicable professional codes of conduct. We are committed to maintaining a non-discriminatory environment in all promotional activities, program content, and participant interactions.
1. Participant Cancellations: Full refunds are available for cancellations made at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled training.
2. Provider Cancellations: If a training is canceled by the trainer or by the Play Therapy Institute of Columbus, every effort will be made to reschedule the event. Participants may choose either to attend the rescheduled training or receive a full refund.
3. Post-Training Refunds: Refunds requested after a training has occurred will be considered only when trainers do not fulfill the stated learning objectives. Requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days (2 weeks) of the training date.
4. Resolution Options: When appropriate, resolutions may include a full or partial refund, credit toward a future training, or substitution of a comparable course.
The Play Therapy Institute of Columbus strives to address concerns promptly and professionally. Grievances may relate to program content, instructor behavior, instructional materials, facility conditions, or any aspect of the learning experience. Step 1: Direct Resolution Participants are encouraged to first address concerns directly with the presenter when feasible. Step 2: Internal Review If the concern cannot be resolved with the presenter, participants may submit a grievance in writing to: Dr. Andrea Weisberger, Reviewer Email: aweisberger@playtherapycolumbus.org All grievances will be reviewed, and a written response will be provided within 30 days of receipt. Confidentiality of the complainant will be maintained. Step 3: External Review If the participant is not satisfied with the resolution, they may contact:

• Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board
The decision of the external body is considered final.
Participants requiring disability-related accommodations are encouraged to contact us at least two weeks prior to the training so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
